It has been my joy to serve our Lord Jesus in ministry for over 30 years now, beginning with the Billy Graham Crusade in Denver, where I was introduced to Youth With A Mission. I then joined YWAM shortly after my time with the Graham ministry as I sensed God calling me into missions and served for 10 years with them as a Church Planter in Japan. I have always been fascinated by maps…which then led me to people of other cultures. I loved getting to know my Japanese friends, and sharing Jesus with them (even with the language challenges).
God has given me an Asian heart and a love for people from all over the world. When I joined International Students, Inc in 1999, it was fabulous to interact with people from so many countries at the University of Denver. I knew from experience what it’s like to move to a different culture, struggle with a different language, and experience a variety of foods, cultures and belief systems.
I genuinely want to walk alongside these precious international students, show them the love, truth and joy that Jesus has poured into my soul while encouraging, strengthening and discussing whatever they are facing…and sharing life together. I so want them to know the amazing Creator God in whose image they have been made. I, and many of my volunteers, have nurtured solid friendships with internationals that last longer than their time in the USA. I make an effort to follow up with them by visiting them in their homelands when I can to see where they live, work & to meet their families…thus, establishing a safe place with a heart of love and an open door. Many of us now consider each other “family.”
Come partner with me to help these students have a positive experience in Denver and be touched by our Lord as His love flows through us, His vessels, to them.
