Kathy Secrist
Kathy attended the ‘Perspectives on the World Christian Movement’ Course in the Spring of 2021. After a few months of coaching, she decided that ISI (International Student, Inc.) would be a perfect fit for her ministry time. Since the fall of 2021 she has been volunteering with the local ISI staff serving international students at UNR (University Nevada, Reno) and TMCC (Truckee Meadows Community College). She has fallen in love with the opportunity that she has to love and serve as a “Reno/USA mom” to many young women who are coming from all over the world. As a next step she has taken the role of Ministry Representative through ISI in early 2023. Her hope is that Jesus will continue to shine through her love and actions. She wants Holy Spirit to open the doors for more conversations about the hope we have in God our Father so that she can help further the kingdom. She said: “I trust that the seeds I am planting will one day grow, but I hope that this new position will help me to be a better witness through word and not just action.”
Kathy has always had a heart to serve and love those around her. She volunteers at her local church, Sparks Christian Fellowship and other local programs as she has time. She is married to her husband Mark, since 1995, and they have an adult daughter, Elissa, who graduated from UNR in 2021.
